Listen to Cora Amsterdam

Though enjoying huge popularity in Amsterdam, the band CORA is actually a German band, with Svetlana Freifrau von dem Bottlenberg and Cora Freifrau von dem Bottlenberg.  CORA had its heydays in the 80s and in the early 90s and has produced such hits as He belongs to me, Lovelorn, Amsterdam and In the Name of Love.  The band then took a hiatus for most of the 90s before re-emerging with a remix of Amsterdam in 2003.  CORA has also released recently a double-CD album called Amsterdam: Best of, which includes the band’s hit singles and some new tracks.  The band can also be heard on the station Radio Cora.

Go Biking

Biking is the primary mode of transportation in Amsterdam.  Amsterdam is a fairly small city and it is easier to navigate it on a bike than in a car.  Biking is also a very practical way of getting around the city because gas prices and parking fees are exorbitant.  Most streets in Amsterdam have biking lanes to make it easier for bikers to wheel around the city.  For tourists, there are many shops that rent out bicycles.  It is, however, important to keep bicycles locked whenever they are parked because bike thefts are pretty common in Amsterdam.
